About the Des Moines Kennel Club

The Des Moines Kennel Club was organized in 1925 for the purpose of promoting purebred dogs. The DMKC is an AKC Member Club. Presently, there are approximately 80 members representing 60 breeds of purebred dogs.

An annual AKC licensed dog show is held each September with an entry of around 2,200 dogs. Seminars and public education projects are provided several times a year.

Membership
Membership to DMKC is open to all persons 18 years of age and older who are in good standing with the American Kennel Club and who support the goals and purposes of the club.
